Walsh's Waste
Reduction program is now branded as our
Walsh Waste Tracker Program. Many Directors of Housekeeping, Environmental
Service Directors, and Infection Control Nurses would agree
that, for a hospital, the key to reducing the cost of infectious waste
disposal is through
in-servicing those people who are responsible for it. Unfortunately, if
it were so easy, everyone would be doing it. We have
developed the Walsh Waste Reduction Program as a turnkey solution
to the problem of ongoing support of waste reduction
initiatives.

The
Walsh
Walsh Waste Tracker Program
consists of
services and materials ranging from:
- in-service sessions
- internal promotional materials
- monthly waste tracking
- quarterly reporting
- assistance on waste bin placement.
Our approach is to combine proven
promotional tools with a series of detailed, informative in-service
sessions. We follow this up by ensuring that the
appropriate number of containers are in the right location, to
support proper segregation.
We realize that many hospitals could do this work
themselves. Our program is simply a proven, packaged solution.
The focus of the program is to:
- tell people what should be in the
RMW, solid waste and
recycling streams.
- ensure appropriate reminders at the point of generation, on
desk tops, in meeting rooms, etc.
- ensure that the proper containers are available, well
located and emptied on schedule
- repeat as necessary.
The Walsh Waste Reduction Program is available
as part of Walsh's P2 ProgramTM and is an integral component in long term
waste reduction.
Walsh's
Walsh Waste Tracker Program
gets people interested and
helps to change their behavior.
