The Waste Tracker^TM technology works by pinpointing problem areas! As the trouble-shooting tool, the Waste Tracker^TM is used to gather and record information, written and visual, on waste disposal in the hospital.

Small as it is, the palm-top computer is loaded with pre-programmed data on disposal violation scenarios that require just a touch of the screen for confirmation. This makes it easy to make entries on the run, in any department.

Solid waste bins, sharps containers and red bags are examined for "top-layer" evidence of disposal violations. When a violation is identified, the Waste Tracker's digital camera captures the situation on the spot, in full color, as evidence of non-compliance.

When information gathering is complete, the Waste Tracker^TM prepares e-mail memos with color photos to the department heads of the areas concerned. The mailing list of reports and memos can be fully customized, and it is up to the hospital to decide who should be privy to this information.

Individual departments are visited by a Walsh employee on a rotating basis, identifying patterns, monitoring progress and determining who requires additional services or in-servicing.
